The quick start guide needed to introduce biometric fingerprint enrollment, master fingerprint setup, TSA key operation, and USB charging — all within a compact brochure format consumers could follow without any prior technical knowledge.

The Outcome
The quick start guide delivered a premium unboxing experience, enabled immediate first-use by non-technical retail consumers, and reinforced BENJILOCK's positioning as the most innovative padlock brand in the US security hardware market.
How We Did It
A user journey review was conducted for first-time BENJILOCK users — mapping the complete experience from unboxing through fingerprint enrollment, operational mode setup, and first TSA key usage within the retail packaging size constraints.
A 4-fold brochure structure was designed to deliver the complete onboarding sequence in a compact, elegant format — with the folding logic sequencing the enrollment steps in the natural order of first use.
Step-by-step fingerprint enrollment diagrams were created with button-press icons and status indicator references — guiding users through initial setup with minimal reliance on text instructions.
TSA key operation guide and USB charging procedure were structured in distinct branded sections, giving experienced users clear rapid-reference access to specific operations without re-reading the full guide.
The final design aligned with BENJILOCK's premium brand identity — using clean iconography, minimal instructional copy, and confident visual hierarchy to reinforce the product's innovation positioning at the moment of opening.
