The Situation
KAISER needed professional assembly and installation documentation (Monteringsanvisning) for their Garasjeport garage door product line, targeting both professional installers and end consumers in EU retail markets.
The Problem
Existing documentation was dense technical text with inconsistent formatting, no visual hierarchy, and no clear sequential guidance through critical safety steps and sequential installation procedures.

Design a CE-compliant Monteringsanvisning with numbered visual sequences, clear component identification diagrams, pictogram-based icons for all key action points, and full multi-language adaptability across Nordic and EU markets.

How We Did It
A full review of all existing Garasjeport documentation was conducted — identifying the absence of visual hierarchy, unclear installation sequencing, and non-compliant safety warning presentation throughout.
A structured step-by-step layout system was designed with numbered visual sequences, photo-referenced component identification diagrams, and clear sectioning for each distinct installation phase.
Custom pictogram-based icons were developed for all key action points — reducing reliance on text and supporting multi-language adaptability across Nordic and broader EU retail markets.
CE-standard safety warning callouts were integrated at every critical step, formatted to European consumer product documentation compliance requirements and positioned for maximum visibility.
